Publishing any content on the U-Web server implies agreement
to the following terms as well as all
U-Mail Account Policies.
Please read them carefully.
- The U-Web Service is intended for personal use of
UCSB students, provided such use does not interfere
with University operation of information technologies
or electronic mail services.
- Unauthorized use of the service and use for personal
gain constitute theft under California law and will be
prosecuted by the University.
- Displaying or distributing materials that violates
copyrights, patent protections, or license agreements
is strictly prohibited and will be prosecuted by the
University.
- Displaying any pornographic materials or distributing
any audio files from your web site, whether copyrighted or
otherwise, will result in permanent loss of access to
all U-Web services.
- Unacceptable uses of the U-Web Service which may
be subject to disciplinary action include but are not
limited to:
- use of any University facilities in a manner that violates
copyrights, patent protections, or license agreements
- use of any University facilities for personal gain or profit,
or for any type of commercial use
- creating web pages that contain libelous materials or
harassing statements
- posting materials that violate existing laws or the
University's codes of conduct
- You will be held accountable for your conduct under all
applicable University and campus policies, procedures, and
collective bargaining agreements. Any action which deters other
users from completing their work or which is otherwise deemed
malicious will result in loss of access to all U-Mail/U-Web
services and may result in University disciplinary action
as well as civil and/or criminal prosecution.
