I am currently a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Anthropology at the University of California, Santa Barbara. My specific discipline is archaeology with a research focus on early maritime Pacific Rim hunter-gatherers. I am broadly interested in the underlying reasons for behavioral variations in coastal hunter-gatherers and in early migration and mobility into and within the New World. I am actively engaged in field work projects on Santa Cruz Island, California and on a submerged landscape in the southern Gulf of California off of Baja California Sur. For more detailed information on my research interests, please visit the research interests section of this site.
In additon to conducting my research, I am also the assistant coordinator at the Central Coast Information Center. This center manages all archaeological site and survey information for Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties. The center provides archaeological and historical resources information to governments and individuals with responsibilities under NEPA, NHPA, and CEQA, as well as evaluations of archaeological sensitivity and recommendations for project procedures.
