This is the Way the World Ends

 

Through the use of free verse, desert imagery, and the image of empty men, T.S. Elliot’s “The Hollow Men” communicates the depravity of human existence as a whole. The progression of the poem leads the reader to the realization that we are the hollow men and the hollow men are us.
