Helping people in need brings about a great deal of satisfaction to everyone. The helpers get a sense of involvement, while the recipients feel special and important. The whole community is strengthened from the exchange.
Clothes are a very important part of life. Many people take for granted the fact that they have abundant amounts of clothes available. The homeless, however, do not own a great variety of clothes. The apparel they have is worn over and over, which degrades the quality. During the winter months it is necessary for them to wear warm clothes in order to assure them good health and survival.
Also, many people do not treat the homeless with the respect they deserve. They too are people with feelings and emotions. We cannot allow social differences to create a barrier within our neighborhoods. As a united community, we must do all that we can to help out the less fortunate.
