This poem is a combination of visual and vocal presentations that reveal the meaning behind Amonia, for. It was created by Dan Waber and Dave Grey, both talented in the digital manipulation of words and their meanings. Upon first seeing Amonia, for it is difficult to understand the purpose of such a poem. Two paragraphs containing seemingly meaningles words are highlighted by the voice recording of someone (Waber) reading along each line. Certain letters are shadowed in each word to create an alternate message. It is the reader's job to figure out the hidden text and use Waber and Grey's auditory and visual clues to solve the" puzzle". This piece was very appealing to me because of the sense I got when trying to decode the poem, as if it was up to me to decide the poem's meaning. That feeling of my involvement being neccessary to understand the poem made the meaning of it that much more important to me as a reader.
