Belowme is a poem by Dan Waber constructed in a non-traditional format. Instead of limiting the reading from left to right there are many different paths that the reader may choose to take in order to read and create a poem of their own. Words are scattered on the page to form no particular pattern but once the reader is able to establish their own path, a poem forms. While technically Dan Waber created this poem I believe that it is the reader that is the true creater. Waber presents the reader with the opportunity to extract a completely personal and unique poem from his choice of words. This opportunity presented to the reader makes this poem, like many of Waber's poems, effect the reader on a personal level that allows them to simultaneously create and interpret this piece.
