This is one of (what I feel to be) the most fascinating projects by Dan Waber. This site is home to an ongoing challenge Waber set for himself on his 40th birthday. He decided to write 40 words (nor more, no less) for a whole year about a person. Each entry/day had to be about a different person that was interesting and he must remember their name. As the list grew, Waber reccounts it to be more and more difficult to recall names of interesting people. The part that interested me the most was not the unusual rules to this "challenge" but the fact that so many people were changed by it and moved to start something similar of their own. On this site there is Waber's 40X365 along with many other people's own attempts to complete a 40X365. The challenge is tried constantly by different people. Waber seems so interested in his readers and their perception of his work that he urges everyone to try this project and send in their entries to him. A fascinating way to spend a year of your life, one might say.
