My first post. Hmm... where to begin?

I guess I'll start by explaining what I plan to do with this site. I don't really intend to be a "blogger". I don't expect to have the free time and if I do, I don't want to spend it at the computer blogging. I'm looking forward to keeping busy with other activities besides computers.

The only reason I'm making this is to keep in touch with people over distances. If I'm close enough to visit them, I'd rather correspond in person but I'm often not and this seems like some sort of solution.

I'm also interested in being able to share things that I make. It might be a photo I'm proud of or a short movie I made, but whatever it is I'd like to be able to easily link to it and discuss it.

I guess this is a suitable beginning for a project with fairly low ambitions. Alright then.
