This web site is full of different photographs that have been photographed over the years of Life Magazine. When you come to this web site there are different categories of photographs such as Mother's Day, Fourth of July, and national parks for example. You click on one of these categories and there are 9 images in each category when the photograph pops up so does a little caption of the photograph, who shot it, and what year. When I went to this web site at first glance it seems to be a very profitable site to go to. It was very well organized in its information, easy to access and maneuver. One snag I did come to in browsing through these photographs that there was no button to return to main menu or the main screen. I had to go to the back button to get to where I originally started. I liked how each photograph that you looked at had a caption, photographer, and what year it was shot. Considering it is LIFE magazine I would have expected a larger genre of photographs to look through, but what information they did have informative. The web site has its most current issue and how to locate an issue that is nearest you which can be useful. But not for a professional or student photographer because this has nothing of real learning value or information If you were looking for a later issue, photograph, or photographer there was no search box anywhere to be able to locate this information. To find information on a photographer that works for Life and you could not find information on or a certain image. This site can be for a browser that really is not looking for much information or someone just stumbled across it might be profitable. Since they do have many images why not add a link to go to an extended list of the photographs they have. For an average person wanting to get the current issue of Life or how to get an issue is great but for informative purposes this would be last on my list to use. There is just not enough information on this web page to be actually informative to a photographer. It seems to be more for entertainment use. Submitted by Rebecca Hilscher |
