The Brad Mangin Website

Brad Mangin is a working photojournalist who predominantly shoots sports photography, and his website (www.manginphotography.com) is filled with a lot of information. The information on his website includes an overview of Mangin's life and work,, pictures he has taken, a client list, as well as extra links. Mangin’s website can be a useful source for up and coming photographers, as well as the seasoned photographer, but there are some unnecessary segments to the site.

The first thing to expect from Mangin's site is an overview of his life, and how he came to be a professional photographer. This is an interesting section of the site, for as a photographer it is always interesting to see how other photographers began their careers. This section will also tell you some of the events Mangin has covered throughout his career, and helps establish his credibility for the viewer. There is also an easy to find email link so people can directly contact Mangin.

The extra information found in the about Brad portion of this site can be overlooked by the everyday browser. This section contains a lot of unnecessary information for people outside of Mangin's loop. This portion contains information about Mangin's baseball season tickets, softball team, as well as his favorite corn recipes. If you are a friend of Brad, and are involved with this stuff then maybe this will be entertaining to you. Otherwise, I suggest that anyone just passing through to pass right by the 'About Brad' section.

Next you will find a 'Pictures' section on Brad’s site. This section is fantastic. Here you will find a many of the images Mangin has taken throughout his career. All of the images include a caption that tell the story of the photo. This is a perfect section that can be helpful and interesting to photographer’s, both young and old.

Following the 'Pictures' section of Brad’s site you will come across the 'Clients' section. Once again Mangin has done this section of his site well. There are more photos and the captions, but the main feature here is that Mangin brings his visitors to the site inside his client list which include: Sports Illustrated, MLB Photos, NBA Photos, New Sport Photography, Upper Deck Trading Cards, USA Today, and Odiorne Wilde Narraway & Partners.

The final section of Brad’s site includes some extra links . In this section you will find a link to one of Brad’s other sites called SportsShooter.com. The SportsShooter site is a great site that is filled with an immense amount of valuable information. The other extra link direct the viewers to guest galleries, where you will find a wide vareity of different photographer's work. The photos are set up just like Mangin's images, that is, with a photo and a caption with the location and the date the image was captured.

Brad Mangin’s site is definitely geared more for the photojournalist, but it can be useful for all photographers. And, while there are areas on Mangin's site that can be overlooked for the most part you will find the website to be a knowledge enhancing experience.
