The website is set up so the artists can search for a specific gender, age, region and photo samples in the Quick Search option. The Advance Search option lets you choose all of the above plus race, body type, eye color, hair color, height, and style for people looking for a model for specific jobs.

Registration for the site is easy and most importantly, it’s free. All you need is an email address, a brief biography, what you are looking for, and some pictures to upload. Members can upload up to 20 pieces of their best work and can also keep track of how many times other members have viewed them. VIP upgrade is available for $4.95 per month or $49.95 per year. Both packages feature up to 40 images upload, personal IM, live chat, and a 2,000kb video clip.

ModelMingle GAB section refreshes every few seconds for members to post new messages or profiles. The four most recent gabbers’ profiles are automatically posted on the main page. Thus, the more often you “gab”, the more people will see and view your profile. It’s like free advertising!

The site layout is very clean and simple, especially the navigation bar on top; it makes easy to explore the site. A quick search option on the left is always there no matter which section of the site you are in. The only downfall of the site is the scrolling sample pictures at the bottom of the page, for; the pictures are distorted, cut in half, or even blank. I would expect a photography/modeling website to have, at the very least, its pictures and picture layouts secure and stable. It is the last place on the website I expect to see a problem, yet there are multiple problems with that aspect of the website.

Overall, www.modelmingle.com is a very useful and entertaining site. You can get comments and critiques from your fellow professionals for improvement, you can network and mingle exclusively or intermittently, view others’ work, plus find those beautiful models for that next exciting photo shoot. This site is an extremely handy tool for any professional or amateur and the networking possibilities are limitless.
