Researching the website Photobloggies.org opened my eyes to a new way of exposure for photographers. The website took me to many photo-blogs people have set up which were truly inspirational. Here is a website dedicated to rewarding and further exposing personal photo blogs of individuals. The website holds a contest once a year in all different genres of photography. From best landscape, portrait, and manipulation to best under 18, Chinese and animal photography no website is unnoticed and the best are hopefully recognized. The website itself <http://www.photobloggies.org> is a very straightforward website designed for one purpose only: to expose and recognize the best blogs in each category. There is a short introduction of the main purpose of the website at the top of the page which describes it as an “annual awards ceremony.” From there the site details the rules of the contest and the steps in entering or nominating a site. There are given dates for the next entries to be due by, which this past year was March 7. The website does not just recognize one blog from each category but rather one winner and three runners up. The prizes that these category winners received are listed below all the winners and the sponsor that dedicated these gifts is under that. Even though this website is basic it shows how the world of photography is progressing. A lot of amateur to professional photographers have built blogs of their own and now here’s a site to recognize them. Submitted by Alexandra Tremaine |
